Image Compressor
Make JPG, PNG, and WebP images smaller by resizing and re-encoding them locally. Set a maximum size and quality, then download β your images are never uploaded.
How to compress an image
- Drop one or more images into the box above.
- Set the maximum width/height β large photos shrink the most here.
- Choose a quality level (80% is a good default), then click Compress.
- See how much you saved and download the smaller files.
How much smaller will my image get?
It depends on the source. Photos straight from a phone or camera often shrink by 70β90% with no visible quality loss, especially once you cap the dimensions. Already-optimized images compress less β and this tool never hands back a file larger than the original.
Frequently asked questions
Will compressing reduce image quality?
Slightly, at most. At 80% quality the difference is usually invisible while the file gets dramatically smaller. You can raise the quality if you prefer.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. Because everything runs in your browser, the only constraint is your deviceβs available memory.
Is it private?
Completely. All resizing and compression happens on your device. Nothing is uploaded, stored, or tracked.
